Scheduling and Other Notes

Cumberland County Schools has canceled ALL after school activities for today.

Therefore we will not be able to have practice this evening. Stay home, stay healthy, & stay warm!

We released a new calendar last night. It is available at http://www.rhinowrestling.org/Schedule.html. It allows you to synch the calendar to your own ical or outlook calendar, subcribe to RSS feeds, and get email and text updates. It also prints very easily in any view. Attached is a sample of the ten day agenda layout and a month view.

No Team Gold Practice on Tuesday, 16 February 2010. Team Gold will practice on Thursday to make up the day.

Just got off the phone with Ed Duncan, the NCAWA Administrative Director, he asked me to relay the following:
Registration / weigh in tonight ONLY. If you are delayed in arriving tonight call him at 828-766-6363, they will remain open to accomodate weather delayed travel.
Tomorrow doors will open at 7:30 as scheduled. Wrestling will have a delayed start time of 9:30 am.

***Since there is no practice this week, here is some homework. All wrestlers should watch the following two videos:

1.    Great match between two of the top three high school teams in the nation. A lot of what we teach on our feet comes from Coach Jordan at Graham St. Paris.

***The Junior High and Elementary State Championships are on 13 February in Winston Salem. Weigh in is Friday night. The coaches already know that I will not be attending because my daughter Elise (graduates in May from Carson Newman College) has her military ball that weekend and I have yet to make it to one. I will be going this year! Please review the following web site and flyer for details. You are free to register for the tournament and a hotel room on your own. If you are not confident in the tournament registration process we will handle it for you next week. Please consider registering early!

Don't let the title of the tournament scare you! If you are a Team Purple wrestler we encourage you to participate and build off of your experience and success at the Rhino Rookie and Rhino eXtreme. You can only have success on the mat if you step onto the mat!

***Remember Conference Leaders Jack Britt High School will be wrestling in the Mid South Conference Championship this Saturday morning at Jack Britt High School. Come on by and support the Buccaneers and our Rhino alumni and teammates!
