USA Wrestling Coaches' Education Program

The Rhino Wrestling Club staff is comprised of men and women who have dedicated their time, energy, and effort to the development of young people through sport. Rhino coaches are double-goal coaches. A win-at-all-cost coach has only one goal – to win. A Positive Coach shares that goal (wants to win) but has a second goal that is even more important – to use the sports experience to help young people learn “life lessons” and positive character traits that will help them be successful throughout their lives. Rhino coaches honor the game and help Rhino wrestlers honor the game by teaching them We say the honoring the game goes to the ROOTS of the matter — R-O-O-T-S. Each letter in ROOTS stands for an important part of wrestling that we must respect. The R stands for Rules. The first O is for Opponents. The next O is for Officials. T is for Teammates, and the S is for Self. The staff promotes three principles, which have the power to “transform youth sports so that sports can transform youth.” Detailed information concerning the three principles is in the Parents’ Welcome Packet.

He is currently serving on the North Carolina Amateur Wrestling Association's Executive Committee while in his second term as a North Carolina Amateur Wrestling Association board Member at Large.
